今日の日経新聞でもタイ洪水の話題が出ていましたが、

大変な状況ですね。

バンコクは友人も住んでいますし、毎年学会で訪れていた都市なので、とても気になります。

実は今週の30日日曜日から11月3日にかけて、タイのバンコクで開催されるIFSCCという学会で僕は発表をする予定でした。

ですが、今日、正式に学会の延期をするというレターが学会会長から届きました。

Dear All,

The IFSCC2011 organizing committee is regretfully sorry for such sudden notice of postponing the IFSCC 2011 Conference. We do greatly appreciate your understanding of the situation.

As of now the mass amount of water overflowing down from the north of Thailand is becoming more and more fearsome to the Bangkok citizens as it will reach the capitol in the matter of hours to days. This is a very difficult time for whole Thailand, even in central area of Bangkok is still saved from flood.

The security of all guests and participants of the IFSCC 2011 is our first major priority to realize. Secondly, we fully intend to organize this event to its potential; therefore, the IFSCC2011 organizing committee agrees to postpone the IFSCC 2011 Conference. All of you will be consistently informed of further information regarding the event and the new official date of the event will be announced shortly.
